|Peer Review||The author should provide three suggested reviewers for peer review. However, the Editor has no obligation to use recommended reviewers and shall select the two independent reviewers of his/her choice. Based on reviewers’ feedback, the Editor will make final decision regarding the status of the paper (minor revision, major revision and reject).|
|Language||Authors must provide a clear, concise and well-written paper in English.|
|Author Names and Affiliations||Clearly identify all authors’ names and associated affiliations (name of Institute or Company) with asterisk for corresponding author.|
|Manuscript Structure||The paper structure typically includes Highlights, Graphic Abstract, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion, and Conclusions. If necessary, the paper should also include Supplementary Material for detailed comprehension. Each section shall follow numerical numbers (e.g., 2.1, 2.2, 2.21, etc.).|
|Figures and Tables||All figures and the tables should be placed in the appropriate place in the manuscript. All parts of figures and tables should be clear with clarity. To save valuable journal pages, try to bring plots close together by deleting the upper common x-axis (piggyback) and treat them as Fig. 1a and 1b, etc. Tables should not cover the same information found in figures and vice versa. The figures/tables are self-explanatory with captions informatively written to reflect the content of figures/tables.
When C/Co used in figures/tables, the Co concentration must be specified in figure caption or table title.
|Numbers/Significant Figures||Be careful about use of significant figures. The reported numbers should consider the errors in sampling, extraction, preparation, determination, calculation, etc. Thus, removal efficiency should not carry any decimal points except for incineration and disinfection in which the log cycle or magnitude of order reduction should be used.
Please use scientific notation, e.g., 2.5 x 10-3 h-1 (not 0.0025 h-1). Also, pH values cannot be averaged.
|Acronyms||It must be defined when they first appear. There is no need to define any acronyms when they will not reappear in the text. Also, simple elements/compounds need not be defined.
Spell out the Genus name first and thereafter only use the initial. Italicize both Genus and species names.
|Units||Use SI units with the expression of W m-2 K-1 in lieu of W/m2-K.
Use lowercase k for rate constants and for prefix k, e.g., kg (not Kg) and uppercase K for equilibrium constants. Try to take advantage of using prefix k, M, etc., e.g., 120 kPa pressure, 10 Mt NOx emission.
|Syntax||Provide a blank space before the unit and between words. Use periods for decimal points.|
|Equations||Well-known equations such as 1st-order kinetics and contaminant removal efficiency [(Co-C)/Co x100%] should not be included in the text. With formula placed in the same line, the solidus format (a/b) should be used. When equation is in a separate line, the stack format ( ) and not solidus one should be used.
All variables including Greek letters must be clearly defined with units of measurement provided. Make characters adequate subscript and superscript.
Unless otherwise noted, the first-order rate constant is always based on the natural log.
|Reference/Citation||Citation shall follow the author-year format (e.g., Iskra and Droste, 2008; USEPA, 2013; Abdelaziz et al., 2015) and listed in the chronological order; use semicolons to separate citations.
References follow alphabetical order and spell out all authors’ names with journal volume and pages. For books/reports, capitalize the first letter of each word in title.
All cited references must be listed in references and listed ones must be cited.
